Independent filmmaker Debasish Sen Sharma’s great initiative to promote interdisciplinary art

Chaepani, an initiative to promote interdisciplinary art, is the brainchild of independent filmmaker Debasish Sen Sharma. It’s a collective space fostering an interdisciplinary attempt encouraging various forms like theatre, film, storytelling and visual design.
Debasish Sen Sharma, who is also a theatre practitioner for years, is known for delivering critically acclaimed films like Aranyadeb and Bicycle Kick.
Chaepani recently came up with its official Youtube channel releasing a music video ‘Chaile Tomay’ penned by Debasish Ghosh Roy, composed by Saptarshi Routh and sung by Timir Biswas. While the video has been arranged by Chayan Chakraborty, Debasish Sen Sharma himself has directed it.
This is believed to be the only Bengali Youtube channel which doesn’t promote their own work, instead aims at delivering Original stories, music and films.
The main focus is to curate original works such as original stories using cafe storytelling sessions, original Bengali composition through cafe music sessions and original short films organizing frequent short film competitions and so on.
