HYDERABAD: A day after a video went viral showing four youngsters bursting crackers at the bust of Mahatma Gandhi, the boys expressed regret for their actions.

The four boys, including two minors, were counselled by the Bowenpally police. Later, the youngsters admitted their mistake and along with their parents made a video, apologising for the incident.

The incident came to the notice of Hyderabad police after the video of the mischief was shared by BRS leader Krishank, seeking action from the police.

"As young citizens, you have the power to shape India's future. Lessons from history and inspiration from freedom fighters show us the path for the future. Appreciate that you realised the mistake, and that's a first step for progress. Best wishes," Hyderabad police said on X.
