Goa doctor held for raping nurse at private clinic

Dr. Samuel Arawattigi, a medical practitioner running a clinic in Chinchinim, has been arrested by Cuncolim police on rape charges. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the nurse's mother on Thursday. Allegedly, Dr. Arawattigi lured the nurse to his residence under the guise of a home visit for a patient before committing the assault.

MARGAO: The Cuncolim police have arrested a medical practitioner on charges of raping a nurse working at his clinic.
The survivor's mother lodged a complaint on Thursday, following which Dr. Samuel Arawattigi, who operates a private clinic in Chinchinim, was arrested. He was produced before the local court and remanded to three days of police custody for further investigation.
Cuncolim police station in-charge, PI Diago Gracia, confirmed that the doctor has been booked for rape.
According to police sources, the accused allegedly lured the nurse to his house under the pretext of a home visit to examine a patient and raped her.
