BENGALURU: Motive, an artificial intelligence-powered (AI) operations platform, plans to expand its India research and development team by hiring more than 300 engineers, product managers and designers over the next two years.The company builds AI solutions for industries such as transportation, construction and energy.
Motive, which has operated in India since 2020, currently employs about 250 people in the country. The company stated that its India team leads the development of AI models and enterprise software. As part of the expansion, Motive plans to add over 20 AI engineers by the end of this year and more than 50 by 2026.
“Our India team is tackling some of Motive’s most complex customer challenges, developing AI-powered technology that is revolutionizing physical operations,” said Jai Ranganathan, chief product officer at Motive.
Motive’s India teams work on AI-powered safety and fleet management solutions. These include collision detection for its AI dashcams, which feature an emergency response system for commercial vehicle drivers, as well as AI-driven fraud prevention tools in its fleet payment system.
The company is also hiring for senior leadership roles in India. It is expanding its internship program in collaboration with IITs and IIITs to train early-career engineers in AI and software development.
Motive serves over 120,000 customers, including large enterprises such as FedEx Freight, Halliburton and Kone. The company said the expansion will strengthen its ability to develop AI-driven tools that improve safety and efficiency in physical operations.
