That’s exactly what happened with Tanupreet and Jaspreet, a young couple from Meerut, whose journey from virtual teammates to real-life soulmates is winning hearts across the country.

They met while playing BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) — the popular mobile battle royale game in India. What started as a simple squad match turned into regular team-ups, late-night chats, and eventually, a strong friendship that blossomed into love.

Their in-game names, “OnFire X Hades and OnFire X Veronica — became familiar to their fellow players. But what nobody knew was that behind those usernames was a growing bond. From giving cover fire in the game to sharing real-life conversations, Tanupreet and Jaspreet became a team in every sense.
With the blessings of their families, they made history by having the In-Game Shaadi Bash’, thanks to KRAFTON India’s latest BGMI campaign.

A wedding like no other
Legendary fashion designer Ritu Beri has designed BGMI-inspired wedding outfits for the bride and groom. The three-day festivities kicked off with a Mehendi on April 8 and a high-energy Sangeet on April 9, featuring a special virtual performance by renowned singer Benny Dayal, marking his debut inside a game. Bollywood director & Olympic gold medallist joined the celebrations – with humorous posts about their FOMO: “Mera invite kaha hai?” along with popular gamers like Mortal, Scout, Mamba, Kashvi, and influencers including Tanmay Bhat, Purav Jha, Meethika Dwivedi too posting about the campaign on Instagram. The campaign lit up social media, with fans raving about the couple’s journey and the immersive execution that turned a video game lobby into a wedding mandap..
